Gross written premiums posted by Albania’s insurers in January-November jumped by 9.43% to 7.1 billion leke (51.8 million euros/USD 74.6 million) on the year, the financial supervisory authority reported.
Overall claims paid out totaled 1.35 billion leke (11.2 million euros/USD 16.1 million), up 10.30% from the same period a year earlier, the authority (www.amf.gov.al) said in a statement.
A total of 692,941 insurance policies were signed, marking a 9.78% increase.
The main insurers in Albania are Sigal with a 30.76% market share, followed by Sigma at 14.77%, and Interalbanian at 11.50%, the
statement added.
