Albania awaits final election results

Democratic Party = 46.52%

Socialist Party = 45.67%

Socialist Movement for Integration= 5.57%

Freedom Polls Party= 1.82%

16:30 - Ballot counting is continuing in all the centres and a leading democratic party is in advantage by 0.83% with 4006/4753 complete. Are we going to see a coalition between Socialists and Socialist Movement for Integration to let Prime Minister Sali Berisha with his finger in his mouth or will Socialist party come ahead by surprise…… stay tuned as counting continues….

00:35 - 2770/4753 voting centres counting has been completeand Dmocratic Party still leads as a coalition with 0.2%.

00:20 - Counting Continues in albanian voting centres. Democratic Party leads socialists by 0.2%.

Ballot counting procedures were slow because of a proportional election system being used for the first time along with new technology to prevent fraud.

Officials at the national election commission said counting would not be completed until Tuesday Evening.
