Tirana, 7 Feb 2007 (AlbanianTimes) - An Albanian lead consortium won the bid for the second mobile operator in Kosova, announced ABC daily. Kosmocell, a consortium created by “Dukagjini” and “Kujtesa”, offered EUR 81 million (USD 104.8 million) for the license, the Regulatory Authority of Kosova stated.
Dukagjini company is owned by Mr. Ekrem Luka, a noted businessmen from Peja. Meanwhile, Kujtesa is the leading internet service provider in Kosova. The new operator will compete with Vala 900, currently the state owned monopoly in the UN administered province. ABC daily
