Parliament Conducts First Round of Voting
Premier Berisha underlined he had sought to the opposition consensus on the dismissal of the top prosecutor
TIRANA - The right-wing majority on Sunday conducted the first round of voting in the parliament to elect the new president.
The opposition boycotted the session, while the deputies cast a secret ballot for the two candidates that had entered the race, Democratic Party (DP) deputy chairman Bamir Topi and former Socialist Premier Fatos Nano although there was not the necessary quorum of 84 votes to elect the new head of the state.
