FOREIGN TRADE IN APRIL 2007

FLOW OF GOODS IN FOREING TRADE(Mounthly)

During April of 2007 were exported 7,948 mln leks commodities, increasing 23 percent compared with April of 2006 and decreasing 4.7 percent compared with the March of 2007.

There were imported 30,483 mln leks commodities increasing 34.9 percent compared with respectively month of the previous year and decreasing 3.1 percent compared with March of 2007.

This month the trade deficit is 22,535 mln leks signing a decrease of 2.5 percent compared with March of 2007 and signing an increase of 39.6 percent compared with April of 2006.

Trade with the EU countries is 61.9 percent. The main trade partners remain Italy and Greece. With Italy the export is 68.9 percent and the import 26.8 percent, while with Greece the export is 7.3 percent and the import 14.3 percent.

Some of the partners countries with which our export and import is increased are: in exports, Austria, China, Macedonia, Turkey, etc and in imports, Greece, Croatia, Russia, Ukraine, etc.

The comparison with the previous month of some group commodities shows that:

Export of group “Minerals, fuels, electricity” increased 30.4 percent, “Construction materials and metals” increased 8.2 percent, etc. While export of group “Wood manufactured and article of paper” decreased 14.8 percent, etc.

Import of Construction materials and metals” increased 18 percent, “Wood manufactured and article of paper” increased 2.6 percent, etc. While import of group “Machinery, equipment, spare parts” decreased 2.5 percent, etc.

In April 2007, the import of goods with excise is 2,952 mln leks or 9.7 percent of the total import. During this month, the import of goods with excise is increased 56.6 percent, compared with same month of 2006. Oil fuel products are the main imported goods in the group of goods with excise (63 percent).
