Former U.S. President Bill Clinton in his speech that held before members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo said that the Republic of Kosovo with its work has managed to create democratic institutions, free press and strong civil society.
He in his speech at the beginning, reminded the former Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova and a stone which he had donated.
"The crystal stones which Rugova gave me have been donated to a university for a time but there are was also known in the U.S. with the name Rugova's Stone, "said Clinton.
Clinton, added that he was born in a country that has similar geology with Kosovo, Arkanzas. "Then, he (Rugova), said that should help us," said Clinton.
Clinton has also shown that the assessments and work is making the current U.S. administration for Kosovo to be moving forward. "Before I came to Kosovo, I spoke with Hillary [U.S. Secretary of State] on the phone and she also sent greetings to you - while trying to achieve peace in the Middle East. Clinton said that "has shown that in today's world no matter how great are the people. According to him, all peoples have their own stories-good and bad.
The former president has said he will do everything possible to help the people of Kosovo again, but also Kosovo should not discriminate between its neighbors. Meanwhile, he has said he is proud of Kosovo.
According to him, Kosovo has progressed, it is already accepted in the IMF with sure steps is moving towards its membership in NATO and the EU.
He said that "Kosovo must be the God of its own peace.
On the other side of the Parliament Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi said that today Kosovo has become a multiethnic country without political and religious differences.
But Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu said that the American people have a special merit for the independence of Kosovo.
"Kosovo citizens are grateful for the decision and military intervention and prevention of a unprecedented genocide in Kosovo." He said to Clinton:"You stopped the hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties ...", said Sejdiu.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Thaci said the visit of President Clinton in Kosovo is a happy day for all in the state of the Republic Kosovo, because Kosovo honors the greatest friends, its hero, former U.S. President, Mr. Bill Clinton ..
Currently the former American president is meeting with thousands of citizens who have challenged the freeze expected to Kosovo's friend, the man who prevent massacres against the civilian population in Kosovo with military intervention of NATO in March of 1999.
