Croatian company Koncar to renovate three electricity sub-stations in Albania
Koncar wins €17.4 million contract for renovation of three electricity sub-stations in Albania
Croatian engineering and transport company Koncar gets €17.4-million contract in Albania to renovate three electricity sub-stations. Koncar’s offer was evidently better then the two other competitors Hyndai and Siemens.
Koncar chief Darinko Bago said: "Contracts abroad are very important at a time of recession."
The Croatian company has been active in Albania for many years.
The projects will be financed by the World Bank and should be completed in 20 months.
Albanians have been plagued for decades by lengthy and frequent power cuts caused by drought, the dilapidation of the communist-era grid and a failure to build new hydro and thermal plants.
The government hopes to improve the power supply by selling the power distributor to CEZ, building new sources of power plants as well as thermal plants and by connecting its network to Montenegro and Italy. (AlbanianTimes.com)
