Albania is Europe's second largest hashish producer

Albania is Europe's second largest producer of hashish next to Netherlands, according to latest report by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The report says Netherlands accounts for 5.4 percent of hashish at the international market, whilst Albania is in charge of 4.7 percent of hashish shimpents.

Tirana's media quote extracts of the report saying that Albanian criminal gangs control cocaine smuggling at two important routes - the Black Sea-Romania and the Adriatic Sea-Montenegro route. (Maxfax)
