Albania: novelties and guests announced

The 46th edition of Festivali i Këngës, the Albanian national selection process to choose the country's representative in Eurovision will see several changes. For example, all the participating songs will be sung in two versions. The names of the guest singers have also been announced. Amongst them, the Swedish band Rednex will be on stage.

This year's Festivali i Këngës promises to be quite spectacular. In order to innovate and present a big show, the Albanian national broadcaster RTSH have decided to introduce some changes. For instance, all the competing songs will be performed in two different versions: the first one, by the contestant and the second one, by popular Albanian singers under the form of medleys. Moreover, each version will have a different orchestration. As always, the participants in the 46th Festivali will sing live.

The names of the guest artists that will perform in the show are out as well. The band Elita 5, made up by Albanians from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, will perform in the first semifinal. The final heat of Festivali will host the Italian band Neri Per Caso and the Swedish group Rednex, that took part in the 2006 Melodifestivalen finishing 6th in the final with the song Mama take me home. They also tried to enter the Romanian preselection this year together with Ro-Mania, but they were disqualified because several parts of their song Well-o-Wee were already performed prior to 1 October 2006.
