ATHENS, Greece -- The UN plans to launch a new series of talks on reconciling differences between Athens and Skopje about the official name of Macedonia.
UN special envoy Matthew Nimitz said on Monday (October 22nd) that he has called a series of meetings between representatives of both countries in New York starting November 1st. He praised both for their genuine commitment to resolving the matter. Athens accuses Skopje of attempting to steal its historical heritage by using the name Macedonia.
