TIRANA, Albania, July 2 Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha has expressed gratitude to China for donating nearly 1,400 computers to promote their use in Albanian schools.
"I, on behalf of the Albanian government, express my heart-felt thanks to the Chinese government and the Chinese people for donating these precious computer equipment," Berisha said at the Monday ceremony at a Tirana school.
He said the computers would help with the promotion of computer use in Albanian high schools ,as well as help the country usher in a digital era, the Xinhua news agency reported.
China's ambassador to Albania, Tian Chang-chun, said he hopes the computers will help with the country's educational development.
The 1,360 computers and 68 printers were valued at $1.23 million
