The New York Times, a renowned international newspaper, has included Albania on its list of main tourism destination recommendations.
They particularly emphasized on the southern coast and described it as the most well priced holiday destination of 2007.
The newspaper included a section of the southern town of Butrint, a 2,500-year-old treasure which the paper describes as “the kind of place where history is still waiting to be discovered.” The article finishes by mentioning Albania’s wealth of attractions including sandy white Mediterranean beaches, picturesque mountains, fertile plains and lakes, and archaeological treasures which reflect a rich history dating back to the Illyrians.
