10 10 2007 Pristina _ Kosovo’s Anti-Corruption Agency submitted 50 cases to the public prosecutor on Tuesday, according to the Agency's chief.
“This number has been reached after a three-week-long campaign organised together with OSCE and UNDP”, said Director Hasan Preteni, referring to the contributions of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the UN Development Programme.
Preteni said he was satisfied with the level of co-operation that the Agency enjoyed with the public, who are urged to report every case of corruption.
However, Preteni expressed his concern about the efficiency of Kosovo's courts, since the judiciary are one of four public institutions where it is believed there is widespread corruption.
Since it was established last year, the Agency has processed about 100 cases involving corruption. (Birn)
