TIRANA, Albania -- Italy became the 11th country to ratify Albania's Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU, following approval by the Italian parliament Tuesday (October 16th). Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha said this shows that Albania can rely on Italy's support in its EU integration efforts. Denmark is expected to ratify the SAA next.
In other news, an Albanian parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Jozefina Topalli visited Canada on Tuesday. Speaker of the Canadian Senate Noel Kinsella assured Topalli of Ottawa's support for Albania's NATO integration efforts.
