Finnish Plant to Boost Montenegro Ore Output

03 10 2007 Podgorica_A Finnish company is to supply an ore processing plant to help triple output at Gradir Montenegro’s lead, zinc and silver mine in the north of the country.

Metso Minerals will deliver the plant at a cost of approximately €7 million, the Finnish company announced on Tuesday.

The mine's annual capacity is expected to rise from 170,000 to 500,000 tonnes of ore once the expansion is complete.

The order comprises equipment for crushing, screening, grinding, dense medium separation, flotation, filtration, and tailings treatment, as well as auxiliary equipment and services.

Delivery will be completed during the second quarter of 2008.

With this investment, Gradir will become one of the leading suppliers of lead and zinc concentrate in Montenegro.

Gradir Montenegro is a subsidiary of Gradir Slovenia, who has bought the property of the Montenegrin mine in 2006 for €401,000.
