UEFA Champions League / Tirana, who came and who left?

The current "Golden Shoe" winner left and ex - winner returned

KF Tirana is one of the oldest and most popular clubs in Albania. They have won more
titles then any other team, 23 including, four of last five years. Tirana in the new
Millenium has past the first round in every season they have participated in European
Cups, but never went through and moved into the Third Round.

Tirana, just returned in Albania last week after more then two weeks training in
Macedonia. There, they played three friendly matches, two against Vardar, they won one
and tied one and they played against Albanian Cup Winner Besa of Kavaja, who will
participate on the UEFA CUP. In Albania, they have played one match friendly against
teuta, the team coached by Sulejman Starova last season and the match ended on a drawless
score

Tirana is in very good shape right now and their spirit and hopes are high for a positive
result, even though they know it will not be easy.

Tirana, had seven key players leave the team during summer moves and they acquired 5 new
players. One of the most important players they lost was the “Golden Shoe” winner of last
Championship Vioresin Sinani who went back to Vllaznia. Also they lost in the middle of
the season the other gol scorer, Hamdi Salihi who joined SV Ried in Austria. Tirana also
lost the other Albanian players Arjan Pisha, Eleandro Pema, Igli Allmuça, plus the two
foreigners Abraham and Fish. Ervin Bulku also left the team to try out with Krivbas in
Ukraine.

During summer, Tirana signed few players as Indrit Fortuzi and old icon of the team known
as “ZOGU” (Bird). He is dangerous striker and he returned to the team after a two year
spell at Iraklis of Thesalonika - Greece. he jsut received the “Green card” from the
greek club, so he is elegible to play. Also the team signed Sina, E.Xhafa, Deliallisi,
Merkoçi and Stojku. They have agreed with Vrapi to joined the team after he will play
with Teuta for UEFA Cup matches.

In papers, Tirana is weaker then it used to be when they won the Championship title last
year, but they still think their team is stronger, which I personally have a hard time to
believe.

Tirana asked for a tape recoreder for the Slovenian Champions of Domzale, but they never
received one from the Club. Domzale had on the stands their scouts to follow Tirana’s
friendly match against Vardar. Sulejman Starova (the coach) and Shkelqim Muca (Technical
Director) were in Slovenia over the weekend to follow the Supercup match Domzale - Coper
2-1
