TIRANA – The Albanian Parliament on Friday elected Bamir Topi, deputy chairman of the ruling Democratic Party (DP), as the new head of state for the next five years, after some left-wing opposition lawmakers broke their coalition’s boycott and took part in the fourth round of voting.
