The appeal of the Municipality for air quality: Strict criteria are required for vehicles and standards for fuel

The Director of the Cabinet of the Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana, Eduard Shalsi repeated the appeal of local government for the Central Government to intervene as soon as possible with concrete actions and take all measures to improve the air quality in the capital city.

In a communication for media in the bridge near the Technologic School where the pollution from traffic jam is greater, Shalsi said:


We appeal the Government to aware and not avoid the responsibilities for this situation of air quality that with the increase of temperatures becomes even heavier. We ask urgent measures and we are willing to contribute and take our responsibilities.

In the day order there must be a suitable legal frame that considers the present developments of the city of Tirana and further; a frame that defines strict criteria for the vehicle's age and standards and rigorous norms for the quality of fuel. This is an appeal and a request directed again to the Albanian Government in order to improve this heavy situation�
